Writers I love:
Rick Bragg - Read “All Over But the Shoutin’” and you’ll fall in love with his writing style.
Susan Meisner - A Fall of Marigolds is poetry in motion.
Jodi Picoult—Read everything she writes if you dream of becoming an author, especially “The Storyteller.”
Noelle W. Ihli - When I read “Ask for Andrea,” I was struck by the uniqueness of her storytelling. I’m so jealous it wasn’t me who came up with a protagonist who is dead.

Jeanette Walls - “The Glass Castle,” “Hang the Moon,” “Half-Broke Horses.” She shares personal stories that will touch every heart.
Amor Towles- “The Lincoln Highway.” He’s excellent at character development and coming-of-age stories.
Freda McFadden: Gosh, she’s so prolific! Her books are easy to get lost in, so you can’t stop turning the pages. Most of her titles start with “the,” and you can fill in the noun. “The Tenant,” “The Housemaid,” “The Teacher,” etc. Pure entertainment from Freda. I immediately turn to Freda for my walking audiobooks.
And here are just a few I read in 2025
